About our company:

We have been in business since 1992 operating a small manufacturing business called Custom Cutlery, Inc. in Marengo Iowa.

We manufacture and distribute high quality cutlery through a world wide dealer network and our retail facility in Amana, Iowa called Custom Cutlery & Ironworks.

High fuel costs have brought us to this new emerging field of alternative fuels that are not based on fossil fuels or imported crude oils. We are looking to the future where higher oil prices and limited supplies of crude world wide will force consumers to seek other forms of fuels to power our world.

Bio-diesel is being made by large scale commercial producers right now but they are using new seed oils (like soybeans)  to produce their alternative fuels (which is still not cost effective) and results in fuels costing more than the petroleum diesel at the pump.

Bio-diesel made from used vegetable oils from restaurants can be produced for less than $1.00 per gallon and uses a renewable byproduct to produce a much more environmentally friendly fuel.  This is what brought us to set up and begin to process our own bio-diesel and is also the reason for our collection program.

Our primary market for our finished fuel is for off road use by farmers and other commercial customers. Tractors and other construction equipment use a large amount of diesel fuel and we are building a market to help serve these targeted industries while reducing their costs and sulfur emissions into the air.

Thank you,

Jim Plowman, President
